O God, who art without
beginning and without end, the Maker of the whole world by Christ, and the
Provider for it, but before all his God and Father, the Lord of the Spirit, and
the King of intelligent and sensible beings; who hast made the day for the
works of light, and the night for the refreshment of our infirmity—do thou now,
O Lord, thou lover of mankind, and Fountain of all good, mercifully accept this
our thanksgiving. Preserve us and vouchsafe
us everlasting life by thy Christ, through whom glory, honor, and worship be to
thee in the Holy Spirit forever. Amen.
