We Praise You, Wonderful God (Christmas Version)

For today's poem, I'll share the lyrics I wrote for a Christmas song a couple years ago. The original song, "We Praise You, Wonderful God," is a hymn from the country of Zambia, which I learned through my wife's extended family (some of whom work as missionaries there). To turn it into a Christmas song, I kept the chorus as it was and wrote three new verses to accompany it. You can read the lyrics below, and if you want to hear how it sounds, here's the Youtube video of our local singing group (my wife and I included) singing it:

We Praise You, Wonderful God (Christmas Version)

Chorus:
We praise you, wonderful God!
We glorify your name,
We glorify your name,
Amen, Alleluia!

Verse 1:
For your Son was born for us
In a stable long ago
And the angels sang above
Amen, Alleluia!

Chorus

Verse 2:
Jesus Christ, Immanuel
Sent from heaven for us all
Now we sing your praise on high
Amen, Alleluia!

Chorus

Verse 3:
Through your Son we can be saved
By this precious gift of God
And one day we'll sing above
Amen, Alleluia!

Chorus
